An American
who was born and raised in rural England, dual national Zac Rivera brings a
trans-Atlantic sensibility to Maloney & Fox, along with six years experience on
marquee consumer brands. Since joining Maloney & Fox in 2003, Zac has been
involved in creating and executing programs for MSN, T-Mobile and Shutterfly
that help demystify technology for consumers. Zac has tackled broadcast and
print media campaigns for technologies as diverse as search engines, instant
messaging, cell phones, digital photography and blogging.
Before
crossing the Big Drink, Zac did a two-year stint at London consumer PR hotshop
Joe Public Relations, where he indulged in his love of video games, football
(soccer) and retail therapy. Many happy days were spent managing reviews and
promotions for video game giants LucasArts (the Star Wars franchise) and THQ;
managing the eBay UK press office and helping it become one of the top 10
Internet properties in the UK (which involved buying a lot of stuff he didn’t
really need from the site); and handling press and events for UMBRO, the soccer
apparel supplier for England’s national team, which culminated in the launch of
the 2003 England uniform with David Beckham, arguably the world’s most
recognizable sports celebrity.
Prior to
that, Zac cut his PR teeth at BSMG London, where he worked on IBM Business
Solutions before shifting to the firm’s youth marketing division and promoted
Mitsubishi cellular telephones to Gens X and Y. Zac earned a degree in
Communications Studies at the University of East London.
When not entertaining everyone
at Maloney & Fox with his strange English colloquialisms, Zac can be found
propping up the bar in one of New York’s many Irish pubs, watching (real)
football and shouting at the TV.
