Karen Wong

After years growing up being mistaken for a little boy with her bowl haircut, Karen left the mean streets of Brookline, Massachusetts for shadier pastures at Smith College where she studied Sociology & Economics and attempted to start a group against the defamation of bad childhood hairdos. Upon graduating from Smith, she moved to New York City as an interactive media buyer with special focus on television and online marketing. Growing bored of analyzing Nielsen ratings day in and day out, Karen found an opportunity to transition to the world of PR, and started her tenure at GCI Group specializing in crisis management, issues preparedness and media training for a variety of consumer healthcare clients, including Merck VIOXX.

Joining Maloney & Fox in 2006, Karen has worked on a variety of food & beverage, consumer healthcare and technology accounts managing media relations, establishing PR programs, and executing high-profile events. Karen has worked on several award-winning campaigns for Drambuie, Microsoft Vista and the American College Health Association.

With a strong appreciation for food, Karen is a proud certified national BBQ judge who is currently compiling a book on all-you-can-eat buffet strategies and the scientific correlation between portion size and restaurant sign font.  When not fine dining, Karen enjoys playing old school Nintendo games, desecrating classics of the 70s, 80s and 90s at karaoke and periodically changing her surname.
