Katie Han
Katie arrived in New York in 2005 by way of Cleveland, the saddest little sports town there ever was, trading in her leafy cookie-cutter suburb for an Urban Studies major and the Beaux-Arts campus of Columbia University—where the sports teams fared no better. NYC was the perfect new home for this avid home cook, baker, restaurant-goer, and overall food obsessive. After dabbling in catering and guerilla-style marketing at The Dish's Dish, Katie found a natural segue into public relations, earning her stripes at boutique restaurant/hospitality PR agencies by organizing events and launches for some of the city's top culinary rock-stars. Upon graduation, she worked on a mixed bag of law, politics, and real estate accounts at a mid-size agency in Midtown. She gained valuable skills while juggling nine accounts requiring pitching at break-neck speed, but was soon lured away by the fast wit and groovy pastures at Maloney & Fox, where playing music out loud is not frowned upon. Born a bookworm, Katie often spends lazy weekends curled up on the couch with her dog, Bella, and a good book. When she's not out checking restaurants off her massive spreadsheet or biking down the Hudson, Katie is a music junkie getting her fix at all kinds of live shows and concerts. She is a devout practitioner of the religion of Korean barbecue, and is always looking for converts to join her. |
